Cleaning Checklist

Consistency matters. Below is the checklist our cleaners follow when cleaning your home.

KITCHEN: 

  • De-cobweb and dust: Run a duster around all edges of the ceiling and down all corners of the room, all the light fixtures, ceiling fans and any other place where there may be spiderwebs and dust.
  • Clean Dishwasher Inside and Outside/polish if Stainless Steel.
  • Clean outside of Refrigerator, including handles, ice/water dispenser, and wipe off top and clean inside including all shelves and drawers. Polish if Stainless Steel.
  • Clean inside and outside of Oven including Oven Racks/Clean and Polish Stove Top.
  • Clean Microwave inside and outside/polish if Stainless Steel.
  • Clean all small appliances – toaster, blender, coffee maker, etc.
  • Spot clean walls, door frames, paying special attention to the walls around stove.
  • Clean Cabinet Interiors and Exteriors/Polish if Wood.
  • Clean and polish all backsplashes, countertops and surfaces.
  • Clean Windows and Window Sills/Sliding Glass Doors if applicable.
  • Empty the trash and wipe down the trash container. Replace liner.
  • Clean/Wipe all trim and woodwork.
  • Clean light switches/Door knobs and all highly touched surface areas.
  • Clean Baseboards and Sweep and mop floor/vacuum rugs

BATHROOMS: 

  • Check if bathroom rugs need to be washed/Wash if the laundry room is available.
  • Clean toilet stool including toilet seat locks (lift/clean/snap back down) plus all interior and exterior surfaces, base, and floor/wall area.
  • Clean and polish sinks and sink fixtures.
  • Clean Tub/shower, including all walls and shelves/glass shower.
  • Clean cabinet interiors and exteriors, bathroom door, door knobs, light switches.
  • Clean and organize all jar tops, bottles, sprays, etc. on top of counters/Clean all Countertops.
  • Wipe down all trim and baseboards.
  • Clean all mirrors and windows/window sills.
  • Clean the floor by hand or sweep/mop.
  • Empty wastebasket and replace liner.

BEDROOMS: 

  • De-cobweb and dust: Run a duster around all edges of the ceiling and down all corners of the room, all the light fixtures, ceiling fans, under counters and cabinets/furniture, around pictures on walls and lampshades.
  • Clean all mirrors and Windows/Window Sills.
  • Dust and polish all furniture.
  • Clean light switches and baseboards.
  • Empty wastebasket and replace liner.
  • Tidy the closet, hanging and organizing clothes, straightening shoes and accessories.
  • Tidy up the room, make beds, and carry dirty laundry to the laundry room.
  • Change bed linens and make the bed (upon client request: clean sheets provided)
  • Vacuum Carpet/Area Rugs and Mop Hardwood/Floors.

STAIRWAYS: 

  • Clean Pictures/Art along Stairway if applicable.
  • Clean baseboards on the stairway and spot clean walls.
  • Vacuum steps using a crevice tool along all edges and corners.
  • Mop or clean by hand if hardwood or laminate flooring.
  • Clean/Disinfect handrail.

LIVING ROOMS/ DINING ROOMS / STUDY / OTHER:

  • De-cobweb and dust: Run a duster around all edges of the ceiling and down all corners of the room, ceiling fans, around pictures on walls and lampshades.
  • Straighten magazines, books, other items on end tables and coffee tables.
  • Tidy the room and put stray items away (toys, cups, trash, etc.).
  • Dust and polish all furniture.
  • Clean all Dining Chairs/Benches.
  • Clean All Windows/Window Sills.
  • Clean baseboards, trim, doors/door knobs and light switches.
  • Move out chairs, couches, tables and vacuum underneath.
  • Vacuum floor and rugs/mop floors.
  • (NOTE: Do Not Clean TV’s or Computer Screens!!!)

LAUNDRY AND UTILITY ROOMS:

  • Dust and clean the top of the washer and dryer.
  • De-cobweb and dust: Run a duster around all edges of the ceiling and down all corners of the room, and ceiling fans.
  • Clean baseboards wipe doors/door knobs and light switches.
  • Sweep and mop the floor.
